Reviews
Bobtje Blues (on the debut album):
"Each and every songs is sure to get people
on the dance floor at a 'connoisseur' Blues party. A fine example
is the final track of the cd, the well-known Mustang Sally by Wilson
Pickett. A crowd participation favourite, that is adequately covered
by the band. It's obvious that the band are having fun as well. They
give a tight performance. The liner notes also show the lads are up
to it."
Bluescruisers (on the debut
album):
"Beautiful and sophisticated production. This
goes for the Music as well as for the design and presentation of the
disc. 10 She's A 2, Never Hit The Same Place Twice, Mustang Sally
are some of the songs to be found on this demo. All tracks come off
well, and sometimes even comical. Judging by the quality of this cd,
the band will certainly be able to pull off a live-gig on any stage."
De Brandpoort, Landgraaf NL:
"The band's premiere gig at The Brandpoort was
booked in a very unexpected way. It turned out to be a great concert
that showed much more spirit, passion and depth than might be expected
when listening to their debut cd. The crowd was extremely pleased
by the musical quality of the performance. This will certainly not
be a one off occasion. Beale Street, thanks for the great show and
the excellent co-operation!"
John Mullins Irish Pub, Maastricht
NL (site quotes):
"St. Patrick's Day with the Beale Street band.
Blues & Roll with a Scottish lead singer. No nonsense blues that swings
and rolls. The perfect band for a Paddy"
"Beale Street band. Rock & Roll with a Scottish lead singer. No nonsense
music that swing and rolls. The perfect band for new year's eve"
Bobtje Blues (assorted quotes
on gig):
They managed to hit it off right away / This
is a tight band / I heard great solos and a nice sound from lead guitarist
Leon Stevelmans / great double-tracked vocals / the band members certainly
know how to use their instruments / A band with a future
Blues & Roots Uit Limburg.
On the charity performance at the Venray
Theatre for the New Orleans victims of Hurricane Katrina:
Meanwhile Beale Street were putting the pedal
to the metal in the main auditorium. The band fronted by Scottish
vocalist Brian Peters were in great form and seemed eager to also
please hardcore Rory Gallagher fans. In the meantime the TV-crew had
arrived, giving the band Worldwide ;-) exposure...
De Bel, Valkenswaard (site):
"A great night out with Beale Street. Party
crowd"
Langs De Maas (press):
Spinners was Beale Street's main roost.
We remember the boys from way back in 2005. And what a party it was,
girls dancing on the pool table. Great atmosphere thanks to Brian
Peters. The Scottish singer gave all he had to give. Brian, you're
a carbon copy of Phil Collins, it's just that you're voice is slightly
better. Well, I wonder what Brian thinks
of this…
