Born on June the 18th, 1965 in Maastricht.

Via a short stint on recorder and a slightly longer stint on organ, I ended up on the guitar. At first I concentrated on "quality" campfire songs as We Shall Overcome and Blowing In The Wind. But somehow I seemed to like playing Bad Moon Rising, Honkie Tonk Women and A Hard Day's Night, a lot more.

For years I kept on playing my best solos in the attic of my elderly home. At the time my parents thought I was torturing cats (must be the generation gap).

In 1981 I started my first band, together with some friends. We were called Smile. All too soon the band fell apart due to 'musical differences'. I couldn't help it, but I liked to play rock music. I couldn't handle playing Strangers In The Night for the umpteenth time. Well, bad tastes tend to differ.

In 1996 I ended up in a cover band called Incomplete. We were world famous in Maastricht. Well, at least for a short period. Tried to keep the band going in 2003, together with the bass player and the female vocalist. Couldn't find a decent drummer, so we had to make do with Roland. He was Japanese and lived in a small black metal box. Man, could he play tightly.

In 2002 I also became a founding member of the Rock-Band, together with Henk, Eric, Mart, Ben and René. Unfortunately I had to leave the band due to personal circumstances, just before their fist live gig.

In February of 2004 I replied to an ad from Beale Street, so, here I still am.

Unlike most musicians, especially drummers and guitarists, I'm not into collecting "stuff". I also know next to nothing about the specifications of the "stuff" I play on. So don't ask me. I own & play:

Just 3 guitars. One of which is the first electric guitar I ever bought. An Asama purchased at the end of the 70's. My main axe is a Mexican Fender Strat. Next to that I play a Cort acoustic 6-string with Fishman electronics.

One amplifier, a Fender Blues Deluxe. I use the second channel for overdrive sounds. Next to that I use a Boss Flanger pedal, whenever appropriate.
